Personalized 1-on-1 online reading tutoring with literacy specialists. Two sessions weekly, customized to your child. Ages 7–14, ongoing enrollment.
When your child needs the whole hour, not a share of it.
One-on-One Literacy Instruction — Two sessions a week. Just your child and a specialist. Built around exactly how your child learns, exactly where they are, and exactly what is in the way.
Some kids thrive in our small-group cohorts. Some need a curriculum that bends to them — pace control an algorithm can't deliver and a group can't accommodate, with every minute focused on the gaps that are actually theirs.
That's what one-on-one tutoring is for: two 50-minute sessions a week, one specialist, one child, one plan built from your child's assessment profile and adjusted in real time.
Every one-on-one student starts with the $197 placement assessment — specialist-reviewed, with a 30-minute call. This builds a real curriculum, not a guessed-at one. The assessment fee credits toward your first block if you enroll within 30 days.
Weekly slots are reserved for the full 12 weeks. Two misses per block are accommodated with a make-up subject to availability; beyond that, sessions can't be banked.
Our Specialists
Specialists, not generalists.
One-on-one sessions are delivered by Learn Your Way Literacy specialists trained in the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy. Every specialist has been personally trained and supervised by Katherine Williams, who built the LYWL curriculum across 17 years with neurodivergent learners.
You're matched with the specialist whose background fits your child, and you work with that same specialist for the full block.
Rotating tutors is one of the most common reasons school-based reading support fails. We don't replicate that pattern.

Questions parents actually ask
Why is one-on-one more than the cohort?
The cohort splits a specialist's time across four to six students. One-on-one doesn't. Every minute is built around and delivered to one child. The price reflects the labor, not the volume.
Can my child do both a cohort and one-on-one?
Yes, and many families do. The cohort handles the structured curriculum arc; the one-on-one handles the specific gap that isn't the cohort's focus. We coordinate the two.
What if my child needs to miss a session?
Two misses per block are accommodated with a make-up, subject to availability. Beyond two, sessions can't be banked or refunded.
What if one-on-one isn't right after we start?
Full refund within 5 days, no questions asked. After day 5, if it's genuinely not working, we move your child into the right cohort and credit the unused balance, prorated.
Do I always work with Katherine?
Sessions are delivered by specialists trained and supervised by Katherine. You're matched with the right specialist and work with that same person for the full block. Continuity is non-negotiable.
Will this conflict with school?
It's built to complement, not contradict. We coordinate with families so we're not undoing classroom work. If the school is using something incompatible, we tell you.
How long do most kids need one-on-one?
It varies. Some do one block and move to a cohort; some do two or three; a few need a longer arc. We review at every block boundary and tell you honestly.
What ages do you serve?
Ages 7 to 14, broadly. We'll tell you in the assessment call if your child is outside the range where we're most useful.
The cohort works for most kids. Not for every kid.
If your child is one the cohort can't quite reach, more cohort isn't the answer. More guessing isn't the answer. A curriculum built from a real assessment profile, delivered one-on-one by a specialist trained in the Science of Reading, is.
One Specialist
Matched to your child's needs, consistent for the full 12-week block.
One Plan
Built from a real assessment profile, not a generic curriculum track.
One Child
Every minute of every session belongs entirely to your child.
