Is Learning Readers Right for Your Child?
This Course Is Perfect For:
  • Beginning readers ages 7-9
  • Students who struggle to sound out simple words
  • Children who guess at words instead of decoding
  • Students who've been left behind in school reading
  • Children needing to start phonics from the beginning
  • Any child reading significantly below grade level
  • Students with dyslexia, ADHD, or other learning differences
  • Older students (10+) reading at beginning level
⚠️ This May Not Be the Best Fit If:
  • Can already decode simple words fluently (try Growing Readers)
  • Main struggle is comprehension, not decoding (try Growing Readers)
  • Needs writing support primarily (try Creative Writers)
  • Has severe reading difficulties needing slower pace (try Dyslexia-Specific Readers)

💡 Not sure? Don't worry! After you enroll, our placement assessment will confirm this is the right course and determine which of the 4 levels your child should start with — or recommend a different course entirely at no extra cost.
This Course Has 4 Progressive Levels
Each level is a separate 12-week session. Students progress from level to level as skills develop.
Learning Readers is designed as a 4-level progression that systematically builds reading skills over time. You enroll in one level at a time, and our placement assessment determines which level your child should start with.
01
Level 1: Foundation
Introduces the most foundational phonics skills. Perfect for true beginners or students who need to start from the very beginning.
Duration: 12 weeks
02
Level 2: Building
Builds on Level 1 foundations with increasingly complex patterns and more reading practice. Solidifies decoding skills.
Duration: 12 weeks
03
Level 3: Expanding
Expands skills further with advanced patterns and longer texts. Focuses on building fluency and automaticity.
Duration: 12 weeks
04
Level 4: Mastery
Solidifies all foundational phonics skills and prepares students for more advanced reading. Focus on fluency and comprehension.
Duration: 12 weeks

Important: You don't need to complete all 4 levels. Our assessment places your child at the right starting level, and they progress as far as needed. Some students complete all 4 levels, others need fewer.
What Students Master Across the 4 Levels
Systematic, sequential instruction that builds from foundation to fluency
Across the 4 levels of Learning Readers, students master all foundational phonics skills needed for reading success. We use the Science of Reading — proven methods that work for struggling readers and neurodivergent learners.
Master the Basics
Students learn how letters and sounds work together, practice decoding words systematically, and develop the foundational skills every reader needs. We start from the very beginning and build carefully through all 4 levels.
Build Confidence Through Practice
Students read carefully leveled texts matched to their developing skills — ensuring high success rates that build confidence. Each level includes progressively longer and more complex texts.
Discover Their Learning Style
Through our meta-learning approach integrated across all levels, students discover what strategies help THEM learn best. This self-awareness becomes a superpower they'll use long after our program ends.
By completing the levels appropriate for their needs, students achieve:
  • Strong decoding accuracy and confidence
  • Ability to read age-appropriate texts independently
  • Understanding of their personal learning strategies
  • Solid foundation for continued reading growth
Our Teaching Approach Across All Levels
Systematic & Sequential
Skills are taught in a logical order across all 4 levels, with each new concept building on previous learning. Nothing is skipped or assumed — perfect for students who've been left behind.
Multisensory Every Lesson
Students see it, say it, trace it, write it, and move with it in every level. Multiple senses create stronger memory pathways — especially important for neurodivergent learners.
Explicit Instruction
No guessing. Every skill and strategy is taught directly and clearly at every level. This explicit approach is proven effective for students with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning differences.
Meta-Learning Integration
Students discover HOW they learn best through reflection and discussion integrated throughout all levels. This self-awareness builds independence and confidence that extends far beyond reading.

Expected Outcomes
What families typically see after each 12-week level
📈 Skills Growth
Students typically show measurable improvement in decoding accuracy, reading fluency, and confidence with age-appropriate texts after each level.
💪 Confidence Boost
Parents report their children are willing to try reading, less anxious about literacy tasks, and proud of their progress with each level completed.
🧠 Self-Awareness
Students can articulate what learning strategies work for them and begin applying those strategies independently—growing stronger with each level.
📚 Reading Engagement
Many students who previously avoided reading begin choosing to read voluntarily or show interest in books as they progress through levels.

Important Note:
Progress varies by student. Some move through levels quickly, others take more time and may repeat levels for additional mastery. What matters is that every student is moving forward from their starting point—not compared to grade-level expectations.

Course-Specific Questions
Which level should my child start with?
Answer: Our placement assessment determines this! After you enroll, your child completes a brief assessment and we place them in the appropriate level (1, 2, 3, or 4) based on their current skills. You don't need to guess—we'll ensure perfect placement.

Do I have to enroll in all 4 levels at once?
Answer: No! Each level is sold separately. You enroll in one level (12 weeks) at a time. After completing it, you can enroll in the next level, take a break, or repeat the same level—whatever your child needs.

How much homework is there?
Answer: 10-15 minutes per day, 3-4 days per week at every level. Includes brief reading practice, review activities, and skill reinforcement. We keep it manageable for busy families and neurodivergent students.

What if my child needs more than one level?
Answer: Most students progress through multiple levels! After completing one level, you'll receive recommendations for next steps. Many students complete 2-4 levels over the course of a year (or longer, with breaks).

Can my child repeat a level?
Answer: Absolutely! Some students benefit from repeating a level for additional mastery. Each time we use varied activities and texts to keep learning fresh. Repeating builds confidence and ensures solid foundations.

Can my child take this if they have dyslexia?
Answer: Yes! However, if your child has severe dyslexia and needs very intensive, slow-paced instruction with extensive repetition, our Dyslexia-Specific Reading course may be better. Our placement assessment will help determine the best fit.

What comes after Level 4?
Answer: After completing all 4 levels of Learning Reading Level 1, most students are ready for our Confident Readers course, which focuses on comprehension, fluency, and writing skills. We'll provide clear recommendations based on your child's progress.
