12-WEEK INTENSIVE STRUCTURED LITERACY COURSE • AGES 7-14 • 4 PROGRESSIVE LEVELS
Dyslexia-Specific Readers
Intensive, slower-paced instruction using OG-inspired techniques for severe reading struggles
For students with dyslexia or severe reading difficulties who need more intensive support, slower pacing, and extensive repetition. We use structured literacy methods proven effective for how dyslexic brains learn — with small groups and expert instruction. This course has 4 progressive levels — each level is a separate 12-week session.
• Next session: January 2026 • 4 spots remaining
Is Dyslexia-Specific Readers Right for Your Child?
This Course Is Ideal For:
  • Students with diagnosed or suspected dyslexia
  • Severe reading difficulties despite previous interventions
  • Children who need slower pacing with more repetition
  • Students requiring intensive, systematic phonics
  • Ages 7-14 reading significantly below grade level
  • Children who've "failed" other reading programs
  • Students needing OG-inspired structured literacy
  • Learners who shut down or become anxious around reading
⚠️ This May Not Be the Best Fit If:
  • Can already decode simple words fluently (try Growing Readers or Learning Readers)
  • Has only mild reading challenges (try Learning Readers — faster pace)
  • Main struggle is comprehension, not decoding (try Growing Readers)
  • Looking for quick results (this is intensive, long-term work)

💡 Not sure? Don't worry!
After you enroll, our placement assessment will confirm this is the right course and determine which of the 4 levels your child should start with — or recommend a different course entirely at no extra cost.
Important: You do NOT need a formal dyslexia diagnosis to enroll. We serve any student with severe reading struggles who needs intensive support.
This Course Has 4 Progressive Levels
Each level is a separate 12-week session. Students progress from level to level with extensive practice and mastery.
Dyslexia-Specific Readers is designed as a 4-level progression that builds reading skills slowly and systematically with the intensive repetition dyslexic brains need. You enroll in one level at a time, and our placement assessment determines which level your child should start with.
Important note: Students in this course often need more time per level than in our other courses. Some students complete a level in 12 weeks, others repeat levels for additional mastery. Both are completely fine and expected.
1️⃣ Level 1: Foundation
Introduces the most fundamental phonics skills with extensive multisensory practice. Very slow, very thorough. Perfect for severe struggles.
Duration: 12 weeks • May repeat for mastery
2️⃣ Level 2: Building
Builds on Level 1 foundations with continued slow pacing and extensive repetition. Solidifies decoding with more patterns.
Duration: 12 weeks • May repeat for mastery
3️⃣ Level 3: Expanding
Expands skills with more complex patterns while maintaining intensive practice. Begins building fluency alongside accuracy.
Duration: 12 weeks • May repeat for mastery
4️⃣ Level 4: Mastery
Solidifies all foundational phonics skills with focus on fluency and automaticity. Prepares for transition to less intensive instruction.
Duration: 12 weeks • May repeat for mastery

Important: Many students repeat levels in this course, and that's not just okay — it's often recommended. Solid mastery matters more than speed. Our end-of-session reports will recommend whether to advance or repeat.
What Students Master Across the 4 Levels
Intensive, systematic phonics instruction designed for how dyslexic brains learn
Across the 4 levels of Dyslexia-Specific Readers, students master foundational phonics skills through structured literacy techniques inspired by highly researched and tested dyslexia methodologies. The pacing is slower, the practice more extensive, and the instruction more intensive than standard reading programs.
Master Phonics Systematically
Students learn phonics patterns in a highly structured sequence with extensive multisensory practice at each level. Nothing is skipped. Everything is explicit. Repetition is built in at every step.
Engage All Senses
Every lesson uses visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile activities. Students see it, hear it, say it, trace it, write it, and move with it — creating multiple neural pathways for reading at every level.
Learn About Dyslexia
Students learn what dyslexia means, why reading is hard for them, and what strategies work for their brain. This removes shame and builds self-advocacy across all levels.
By completing the levels appropriate for their needs, students achieve:
  • Improved decoding accuracy and confidence
  • Ability to read with previously learned patterns
  • Understanding of their dyslexic brain and effective strategies
  • Solid foundation for continued reading development
  • Reduced anxiety and increased willingness to try reading
Our Teaching Approach Across All Levels
Inspired by the gold standard for dyslexia
01
Systematic & Cumulative
Skills taught in a logical, sequential order across all levels. Each new concept builds on and reviews previous learning. Nothing is assumed or skipped.
02
Explicit & Direct
Every sound, every pattern, every rule is taught directly and clearly at every level. No guessing allowed. This explicit approach is essential for dyslexic learners.
03
Multisensory & Structured
Engaging visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile pathways in every lesson at every level. This is non-negotiable for dyslexic brains — creating multiple memory pathways.
04
Slower Pace, More Practice
We move only when students demonstrate mastery, not according to a rigid timeline. More repetition, more review, more time — whatever each student needs at each level.

Expected Outcomes
What families typically see after each 12-week level
📈 Skill Improvement
Students typically show measurable improvement in decoding accuracy with learned patterns after each level. Progress is measured against their own starting point, not grade-level benchmarks.
💪 Reduced Anxiety
Parents report decreased anxiety around reading, increased willingness to try, and improved attitude toward literacy tasks as students progress through levels.
🧠 Self-Understanding
Students develop understanding of their dyslexia and what strategies help them. This self-awareness reduces shame and builds self-advocacy with each level.
📚 Small Wins Matter
Students experience success with carefully controlled texts at every level. These small, consistent wins build confidence that they CAN learn to read.

Important Note:
Progress with dyslexia is measured in steady, incremental gains—not dramatic leaps. Some students move through levels in 12 weeks, others need 24+ weeks per level. Both paths are valid. What matters is solid mastery, not speed.
Many students will repeat levels, and that's not failure—it's smart instruction ensuring lasting progress.
What Parents Are Saying About This Course
"After three years of failed interventions, I'd almost given up hope. My son repeated Level 1 twice before moving to Level 2—and that was exactly what he needed. The intensive, slow pace finally allowed his brain to create the connections. He's now in Level 3 and actually reading. I'm crying as I write this."
Sarah M.
Parent of 9-year-old with severe dyslexia
Dyslexia-Specific Reading - Levels 1, 1 (repeat), 2, 3
"The multisensory approach is legit. My son needs to MOVE while learning, and this program gets that. He traces letters, builds words with tiles, jumps on sounds—and it WORKS. His reading has improved more in Level 1 and 2 here than in 2 years of school intervention. We're enrolling in Level 3 next session."

Course-Specific Questions
Does my child need a formal dyslexia diagnosis to enroll?
Answer: No! While this course is designed with dyslexic learners in mind, any student with severe reading struggles who needs intensive, slower-paced instruction can benefit. We'll assess your child's needs during enrollment and recommend the best course fit. If you suspect dyslexia but don't have a diagnosis, we can still serve your child and may recommend evaluation resources if you're interested.

What's the difference between this and Learning Reading Level 1?
Answer:
Learning Reading Level 1:
  • Standard pace (most students complete each level in 12 weeks)
  • For students with mild-moderate reading challenges
  • General Science of Reading phonics instruction
Dyslexia-Specific Reading:
  • Slower pace with MORE repetition (many students need 24+ weeks per level or repeat levels)
  • For students with severe reading struggles or dyslexia
  • More intensive OG-inspired structured literacy approach
  • More frequent review and multisensory practice at every level
  • Smaller focus on meta-learning, larger focus on systematic phonics mastery
If you're unsure which fits, our placement assessment will guide the recommendation!

Will my child have to repeat levels?
Answer: Many students repeat levels in this course—and that's not just okay, it's often the best path to lasting success. Our specialists will recommend if repeating a level would benefit your child. Solid mastery matters more than moving quickly. Each time a level is repeated, we use varied activities and texts to keep learning fresh while ensuring deep skill consolidation.

My child is 12 and still can't read well. Is it too late?
Answer: It's NEVER too late! While earlier intervention is ideal, we serve students up to age 14 and have seen significant progress even with older students. The brain remains capable of building new neural pathways. Older students often have advantages: more motivation (they understand WHY they want to read), better self-advocacy skills, and ability to understand meta-cognitive strategies. It takes intensive work, but progress is absolutely possible.
